Sr. Technical Consultant

The individual is required to assist with the growing demand for technical consulting amongst Eagle’s client base.  The Primary responsibility of the Senior Technical Consultant is to provide clear communication as to Eagle’s Technical best practices on the implementation, deployment, maintenance and tuning of the Eagle product suite.  The consultant will have significant Oracle DBMS experience and will be responsible for identifying and exploring value-add opportunities at the client; this may be in the form of additional consulting, third party integration, tuning and benchmarking or technical deployment strategies – such as roll-out, capacity planning, data strategy, HA considerations and prototyping new add-ons to the core product.  The individual will join a team whose goal is to improve technical relationships, reduce technical issues and act as the conduit between the client and product on technical enhancements and improvements.

 

Background:
The position involves providing highly-specialized technical consulting to Eagle’s North American clients.  The applicant must have 5+ years of experience in the technical consulting and/or analyst programming arena specializing in Database technologies (SQL Server & Oracle), RAC, 10g/11g and UNIX/Linux skills are advantageous as is some development/integration experience using standard tools such as Visual Basic, ASP, Messaging (XML, Swift) Scripting (KSH, Perl etc).  Additionally, this individual will have experience in designing and/or deploying virtualization strategies for multi-tier enterprise production systems.

 

Core Skills:
The candidate must possess excellent documentation skills and be able to work and communicate effectively with senior business management. This individual may have global counterparts which they may be expected to collaborate on a number of joint initiatives; including Installations, & Upgrades, Best Practices training, Trouble shooting, Performance Benchmarks and custom integration.  The candidate must be degree educated in a science discipline and must understand the core technologies that underpin modern software development, especially data management and messaging technologies.  Experience in the financial services industry and knowledge around the technology/operational security requirements that surround financial systems is advantageous.

 

Management:
This senior consultant will not have any direct reports initially, but will assist with the scheduling of the team as it relates to client commitments. This person may be asked to grow a team that delivers services to Eagle’s most critical client based. An ideal candidate would also have experience onboarding and managing high performing technology professionals.

 

Education:
The candidate must be degree educated in a science discipline and must be genuinely interested in the core technologies that underpin modern software development.   Whilst specific 3rd party certifications are not required it is advantageous.

 

Travel:
Travel is required (25-50% is common) to assist with on-site implementation tasks such as Installations and Upgrades, technical consulting and prototyping activities throughout North America.  This is a sought after individual and international travel may also be required from time to time.
